Origami

     Origami folding is an art that originated in Japan. The material used is paper or cloth which is usually rectangular. Origami became popular among Japanese people until now mainly with the local Japanese paper called washi. 

     Washi or Wagami is a type of paper made by traditional methods in Japan. Washi deemed to have a beautiful texture, thin but strong and durable when compared to other types of paper.  

     In Japan, washi is used in various kinds of handicrafts and art objects such as Origami, Shodo and Ukiyo-e. In Japan, washi paper money is also a material that famous yen banknotes strong and not easily worn.
